Boland Falconry Club
The BFC was founded in 2003 and under debatable circumstances disbanded in 2024.

2003
The BFC, nestled in the "Uplands" of the Western Cape, South Africa, soared to prominence. The BFC as a first shifted from an association-based membership to contract-based membership.

2004-2023
As a spin-off from the Cape Falconry Club (CFC), the Boland Falconry Club (BFC) established as the first SA province with 2 falconry clubs, under the auspices of Cape Nature.

2024
With its dissolution in 2024 members felt betrayed and the legacy of South African falconry damaged. As per the SAFA website in 2023 the BFC had a membership of 26 members.

The examination of the BFC story to follow will highlights key lessons that extend beyond the realm of falconry, offering valuable insights for the management and operation of any association or sporting body.
